Conner Delivers Hard-Hitting Rock Music in 'Life In The Fast Lane'

Conner tells the world how he lives his Life In the Fast Lane in his debut EP. This 6 track project from Conner lets listeners in on the highs and lows of his time in the Hollywood hills. Merging his background in action sports and motocross racing with his love for rock music, he wanted to create “hard-hitting, fast-paced, real rock music from the heart,” as he describes it.

In the opening track of Life In the Fast Lane, “Welcome To the Show,” Conner gets vulnerable about his insecurities and anxieties he deals with daily while chasing his dreams. Over an intense instrumental of electric guitars and fast drums, Conner sings, “Come look into the life as a misfit/Welcome to the show.” This song is relatable for anyone told by their parents that they’ll never make their dreams come true. Listen to “Welcome To the Show” when you’re feeling down and insignificant, this song will serve as your outlet for that energy.

“No Goodbyes” is the poetic and emotional second song of Conner’s EP. In this song, Conner sings about the toxic ex he never got to say goodbye to. “Second chances don’t feel right/You only get one try/Never had the chance to say goodbye.” By the second verse of the song, Conner realizes that he’s glad to miss out on that chance. “You’re one mistake I won’t make twice/Go move to London, change your life/I’m glad I missed the chance to say goodbye.” These wise lyrics of Conner’s can help listeners move on from a breakup.

“Celebration” is the third track and the lead single from Life In the Fast Lane. Featuring Landon Cube, “Celebration” is about celebrating life at its fullest, the good and the bad. “Left without explanation/ruined my reputation. Spent six months on probation/I got off that medication. Life is a celebration.” Landon’s raspy vocals blend with Conner’s bold vocals well, and together they make a dynamic duo on “Celebration.” This song will give listeners an instant boost of serotonin. So raise a glass, celebrate your accomplishments, and rock out to “Celebration."

In the fourth track of the EP, “The Internet,” Conner preaches about how the internet ruined his generation. In the intro, he sings, “I can’t hold a conversation/I can’t drink in moderation. Real life I tried to fake it/The internet f*cked my generation.” The intro is enough to hook you into listening to the whole song. Conner described Gen Z in a nutshell, and “The Internet” is one of our favorites from Life In the Fast Lane. With conviction and frustration, Conner puts what’s on everyone’s minds into a song. “The Internet” is a timeless pop-punk anthem for Gen Z. Like the rest of this album, this song is meant to be blasted everywhere for everyone to hear.

“Love Roulette” is a song about taking a gamble on love. In this song, Conner sings about a breakup that he regrets happened. ”Cash out, I guess this is it/Count my chips it’s time to quit. Cause in the end no one will win/A breakup is a 50/50 split.” The way Conner compares love to gambling is unique. Although the tone of this song is regretful, the electric guitar riffs and bass-heavy instrumental makes it fun and thrilling. Love Roulette” gives the ultimate summer vibes and is the perfect song to listen to on the way to a beach party.

Life In the Fast Lane closes out with “Mind of a Freak.” In this rock ballad, Conner bares all of his flaws and fears. “I’ve got the mind of a freak/Life’s not all that it seems/Don’t know what to believe in, I’m scared.” The production of this song is intricate and intentional, From the muted bass in the first verse to the whisper when Conner sings, “I gave it everything.” “Mind of a Freak” is Conner at his most vulnerable, lyrically and musically and we appreciate every aspect of this song.

Overall, Life In the Fast Lane Is a great debut project from Conner and showcases who he is as an artist and person. This EP shows the good, the bad, and the ugly about his life, while also giving listeners catchy hooks and Instagram caption-worthy lyrics. Now that Conner’s lived Life In the Fast Lane in LA, we hope he can slow down to process the love we have for this EP.
