Having not released any new albums in a few years, and a couple singles in 2020, the Bleachers made an appearance in the 2021 music scene. With their new single, "Stop Making This Hurt," the band has come back in full swing, creating a song that is sure to be another adventure anthem.
"Stop Making This Hurt" features an up-beat piano and added jazz instruments, invoking almost a disco-esc vibe. The background harmonies and synths convey a funky and vibrant mood, that makes you want to roll down the windows and scream the lyrics at full volume. The drum beat and extra sound effects produce an energetic and spunky dance song. Not only are the vocals and harmonies electrifying, but song as a whole is extremely dynamic and bright.
The new single sounds similar to music found in their 2014 album, "Strange Desire," and shows that despite time, the Bleachers are back and better than ever. Following the release of the single, Bleachers also announced their upcoming album, "Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night," which is set to release on July 30. The Bleachers couldn't just stop there though! They also announced a North American tour for the new album, which will start in September of this year.
In discussing all of the new music and tour, the Bleachers write, "We do not mess around live and there has not been a stage that we haven't given every ounce of what we are. We are coming home. Can't wait to see our people, old and new We love you and are counting the days until we are together." The Bleachers are just as excited to reenter the 2021 music scene, as fans are eager to hear the new album! After hearing "Stop Making This Hurt," there is no doubt the Bleachers are releasing an album filled with summer bangers.
