Jay describes his inspiration behind the song:

"My stage name is Jay Kurt and the song was produced by Xage. This is a song I wrote to myself, describing how I was scared to be myself and kept staying at my comfort zone because of struggles I wanted to avoid that came along with being myself. It’s a very emotional song for me, and I hope it will have the same effect on you too."
