Nashville based, alternative pop band released Hate My Favorite Band (HMFB) on April 1, following their recent release ‘about you’ with notd which gained more than 1 million streams in its first week. HMFB is sure to follow with an overwhelming positive response to teasers on TikTok.
HMFB explores that all-consuming feeling resulting from a breakup that turns the positives in life, into your worst memories. The juxtaposition between the upbeat and energetic music against the angsty and sad lyrics really makes you think about the breadth of emotions that are tangled up with love and its loss.
Lead singer Jonathan Capeci says, “It’s one of our favorite songs we’ve ever written. There are definitely autobiographical bits in this song. I definitely don’t hate my favorite band because of someone, but there are albums I couldn’t listen to for a while.”
Comprised of Jonathan Capeci, Joey Beretta and Nicholas Sainato, the band have toured extensively, including with NF, The Band Camino, Lennon Stella, Andy Grammer and Ke$ha. With over 300 million streams and over 450,000 social media followers, it’s no surprise Nightly’s TikTok following has grown significantly in the past few months, with over 15 millions views. They are currently on tour with The Midnight.
