Nashville based, alternative pop band release ‘on your sleeve’ following their recent releases ‘about you’ with notd which gained more than 1 million streams in its first week, and ‘hate my favorite band’ which saw the band curating Spotify’s Soda Pop playlist, and it’s music video is being features on MTVU and MTV Spankin’ New.’
‘On your sleeve’ is a catchy plea for honesty and vulnerability, asking to just cut to the chase and say how they really feel. The lyrics have a level of specificity that draws the listener in with lyrics so specific you can’t help but see the scenarios playout in your mind like “the way you laugh when we talk in a British accent”.
Lead singer Jonathan Capeci says, “It [the song] describes a game of emotional chicken, where two people who are infatuated with each other, withhold sharing their feelings even though they are experiencing the same thing. It just creates unnecessary distance, so why not give it a shot.”
The song was written in a few hours with vaultboy during their first writing session over zoom, was self-produced by the band, and quickly jumped the que to be released, Capeci comments “we have been writing a lot for our next project, but this song stuck out as something we needed to release sooner rather than later.”
Comprised of Jonathan Capeci, Joey Beretta and Nicholas Sainato, the band have toured extensively, including with NF, The Band Camino, Lennon Stella, Andy Grammer and The Midnight. With over 300 million streams and over 450,000 social media followers, it’s no surprise Nightly’s TikTok following has grown significantly in the past few months, with over 15 millions views. This Fall they will join The Midnight on their national tour.
