Surfaces releases new album "Pacifico"

After more than a year from the release of their last album in February 2020, Horizons, Surfaces entered the 2021 music scene with a fresh new album. Following the chaos of the pandemic, the 16-track album, Pacifico, hit the world with a much needed relaxed, beach vibe. The Texas-based band consisting of Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki, have been releasing music since 2017 and never fail to create absolute bops.

Pacifico starts off with a simplistic and beautiful intro song, "Climb," that creates a feeling of absolute calm and peace right from the beginning of the album. Transitioning into the next few songs, "Hideaway," Let Me Know," and "Yours" are some effortlessly rich songs that are just fun and lively. The album has some features and collaborations with artists Quinn XCII, Public Library Commute, salem ilese, and Xavier Omär. Other songs like "Wave of You" and "Let It Ride" start off with intriguing guitar moments, which lead up to an endlessly entertaining chorus with funky and energetic beats.

Surfaces recently announced their 2021, "Good To Be Back" (G2BB) tour leading up to the release of Pacifico. Performing both their own intimate live shows and stopping at a few festivals along the way, Surfaces are hitting more than 30 cities before the end of the year. The G2BB tour will be having special guests including Verzache, Khai Dreams, and Public Library Commute.

In discussing the production of Pacifico, Surfaces wrote on an Instagram post, "A year ago we rented a house on rambla pacifico drive that overlooked the malibu coastline for about half a month. we wanted to see what would happen if we fully immersed ourselves in music. from the moment we woke up till the moment we went to bed we wrote/produced/recorded songs. this is that trip. we tried to capture the entire experience of the journey through sound, and left the house wanting all of you to feel like you were there with us. we hope y'all have as much fun going up that hill as we did."

Surfaces 4th album was featured on multiple billboards in New York's Time Square for both Spotify and Amazon Music's new music Friday. Pacifico is a captivating and dynamic record that is sure to be the hit album of summer 2021.
