The Backyard Girl: Claire Rosinkranz

It is no news that Tiktok has become some major platform for musicians to show their music since the start of 2020. Many artists have found a way to promote their music or even start their own careers. If you are on the app you probably have heard the song “Backyard boy” by Claire Rosinkranz (tiktok @clairerosinkranz).

The 17 year old girl has been getting bigger and bigger on the platform earning over 570,000 followers since she started to post her amazing Pop/Blues Songs. From tiktok to more than 4 million monthly listeners on spotify, Claire writes her songs and her dad helps her produce it.

Claire started posting on tiktok in April 2020 with her song "Touch Guy", but it was after the incredible success of "Backyard Boy", that got in everyone's head, that she finally let people know that she was here to stay. The song that now has more that 2.2 million videos with the sound on TikTok and more than 130 million streams on spotify, also hit #1 on spotify global and U.S viral 50 charts.

Now she has released her sophomore EP “6 of a billion” with six incredible songs that I can't stop listening to. After her debut EP "BeVerly Hills BoYfRiEnd" that contains "Backyard Boy" i was, for sure, excited and waiting with high standards for the next EP, and i was not disappointed.

My favorite song from the entire EP has to be "Hotel" not just by the super cool production but the lyrics are fantastic. The song is about sneaking out with friends to party in a hotel. It's the perfect song to listen to in the car with your friends or just to sing in the shower. The best part is that her dad probably found out about it all while producing the song.

Another banger song from her EP is called "Frankenstein" and this one is about building the perfect boy. I guess everyone could relate to that. We are all so sick of people breaking our hearts that it's nice to hear from other people's perspectives what the perfect guy is for them. My favorite thing about this song is actually the music video that outstanded to me in many ways. It is so creative and fun to watch that I probably did too many times.

Another one of my favorites from the EP is "Boy in a Billion". This song is just so special to everyone who feels lonely and sometimes tries to rush into relationships that never work. But as Claire says: he's just a boy in a billion.

The EP also counts with three other songs which are just as good as the ones I described. "Pretty Little Thing" , "Fall Apart" and "LAX" are the other tunes in there that we should definitely be talking about.

For sure Claire is making her way into the music industry with no flaws. Her vocals are impressive and her lyrics are relatable and honest. Her videos on tiktok are always showing her hard work alone or with her dad producing more and more. I know for sure that this is not the last time you will be hearing her name.
