On July 23th, The queen of Dark Pop, as named by Nylon Magazine, XYLO, stopped at Elsewhere in Brooklyn on her first ever headlining tour. Playing songs from her latest release yes & no, as well as some of her older hits like “Sometimes” and “Afterlife,” she electrified the crowd with her grungy attitude, impeccable vocals and provocative dance moves.
XYLO's live performance is one that creates its own unique vibe. With her name lighting up a marquee as the backdrop and her two-piece band backing her voice and tracks, her show really draws you, captivating you to sing along and dance with her.
She opened up the show with the incredibly catchy title track from her latest EP, yes & no, continuing the set with others from the EP including “Ride or Die” and “The End,” throwing in past singles as well. She even included a solo cover of Chainsmokers’ song she featured on as well, “Starting Fires,” which had its own original flair to it.
XYLO’s yes & no EP is available everywhere now and delivers a classic indie pop tone with a darker underlying vibe, and relatable, emotionally driven lyrics. Front to back, the six-song release is catchy and danceable, and well worth the listen.
